First steps

Hey guys!
First post on our the blog(:
Woohoo.

Ok, so down to business, we have many things to do in order to get this thing started:

  • Come up w/ a name and slogan thing for our group
  • Come up w/ some goals to strive for
  • Confirm meetings at school w/ Mr.Tse and a supervising teacher.
And...well, of theres anything else, post a comment!

i think this is a great idea, but before we figure out the name, we need to figure out what issues we are going to focus on. it can't be too similar to AIDE or CAP because our group would not get approved. i think we should make it more general, so that we don't just focus on the same issues as other clubs do about africa, but the entire world in general.

Hey - This is awesome! The site looks incredibly professional and i think it's going to be really easy to communicate once everyone joins.

I agree with.. 'crazy kids'. We discussed such a wide range of topics at the workshop and we already have a great set of possible solutions. I think we should incorporate the 4 MAIN topics into our focus as we have already brainstormed some strategies to afflict positive change!

we should definitely also look at local charities within our community. Everybody always thinks about poverty in other countries, but nobody at our school does anything for poverty in Canada. So perhaps we would get approved for that?

Especially with Ester's soup kitchen ( I think that's the name)- we could volunteer there as a group. perhaps we could be a volunteering organisation so we do more than just fundraise- we actually go out there to gain experience and made a difference in grassroots charities

great job on the blog- it really does look professional

AND WE STILL NEED TO FIND A TEACHER!!!

I would just like to thank Maggie for putting up such an amazing site. I agree with Cassandra when she says that the site is very professional. I talked to two teachers and they unfortunately stated that they could not supervise. I will keep everyone updated on the details. I am attempting to create a facebook and Google group, but a I am still thinking of a name for the organization. Expect an email from me tonight.....or sometime soon.

peace
